The best F1 apps, compared

Most F1 fans end up with two or three of these, because no single app does everything. Here's what each one is good at, what it costs and what you get for free.

Full disclosure: we make RaceMate, one of the apps below. We've put it where we think it honestly fits, not at the top. Everything else was checked on each app's own site or store listing on 27 October 2026. Prices are US App Store unless we say otherwise and change by country.

Each app in a bit more detail

  1. F1 (official app)

Best for: Official news, results and live timing

If you only install one F1 app, it's probably this one. It has the news first and the timing data straight from the source. What it doesn't do is "what if": no title maths, no deep history.

Which ones to install

Watching live: F1 TV, plus MultiViewer if you're at a computer. Following the weekend on your phone: the official F1 app, with Box Box or the RaceMate app if you want widgets. Working out who can still win the title: the RaceMate championship calculator, which runs in the browser.
